Ministry Programs
OBU’s Campus Ministry permeates the campus through discipleship, worship and ministry activities. In addition, students can serve in missions through the University’s Avery T. Willis Center for Global Outreach.
For the 2008-09 academic year, The Avery T. Willis Center for Global Outreach coordinated eight Global Outreach Trips, with 50 participants. In addition, students worked with eight on-going local ministry groups throughout the year.
OBU is the world's leading college in the number of alumni serving as missionaries with Southern Baptist' International Mission Board.
National Recognition
OBU has been ranked as the only Oklahoma college or university on U.S.News & World Report’s annual ranking of “Great Schools, Great Prices” for 2012. OBU also has been listed as Oklahoma’s highest-ranked college in “Best Regional Colleges” for the 18th consecutive year. OBU has made the news magazine’s “top 10” in its category for 20 consecutive years. The rankings are available here.
For the seventh consecutive year, OBU has been named one of the best colleges and universities in the western United States by The Princeton Review. OBU was one of 121 institutions recommended in the “Best in the West” section on the educational research firm’s website.
For the fourth year in a row, OBU is the highest-ranked university in Oklahoma in the latest Forbes.com listing of "America’s Best Colleges.” OBU ranked third among Baptist-affiliated schools. Nationwide, OBU ranked 299th on the “America’s Best Colleges” list among 650 undergraduate institutions rated by Forbes.com. OBU was listed as No. 245 among private colleges and No. 75 among colleges in the South.

Governance
OBU is owned by Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, which provides approximately $2.8 million in annual support through Cooperative Program funds. OBU is governed by a 33-member board of trustees elected by the state convention.
Sports
19, including men's and women's basketball, cross country, swimming, golf, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field, soccer, tennis, men's baseball, and women's softball and volleyball.
OBU was ranked #5 in the 2006-07 U.S. Sports Academy Directors’ Cup standings for the NAIA. The rankings are based on the overall success of athletic programs at NAIA member schools. OBU finished as the top school from the Sooner Athletic Conference and NAIA Region VI with 639.
OBU’s women’s indoor track and field team won the 2007 and 2011 NAIA Championship. The OBU men’s outdoor track and field team won the 2007 NAIA Championship, which was their second championship.
OBU has a total of seven NAIA National Championships: men’s basketball, two, 1966 and 2010; men’s outdoor track and field, two, 1990 and 2007; women’s indoor track and field, three, 2005, 2007, 2011.
